ARTIST -DIRECTOR - PSYCHOLOGist
David Stöhr (he/him) is a director and psychologist. Born in 1987 in
Siegen, he studied psychology in Vienna and then drama directing at the Max Reinhardt Seminar. From of the 2016 season, he was assistant director at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz. In collaboration with Thomas Ostermeier, he co-directed the production of ‘Im Herzen der Gewalt’ by Edouard Louis and subsequently directed ‘März’ after Heinar Kipphardt at the Schaubühne in February 2019. This was followed by work at the Magdeburg Theatre, Staatstheater Darmstadt, Mecklenburg State Theatre, HMT Rostock and transdisciplinary work with psychosocial institutions. In addition to his artistic work, he is also a lecturer at universities (most recently at HFF Babelsberg Film University and HMT Rostock). With his independent theatre company ‘conseqeunt consequent’, he has realised several productions in Berlin, followed by nationwide guest performances and international festival invitations.
